Mission Statement
The Solution Architect is responsible for the development of the technology solutions and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure they are in line with the enterprise architectural plan.
Main Accountabilities
Dimensions
Create solution architecture designs that are in sync with business needs and Enterprise Architecture
Liaise with clients and business representatives to understand the needs of business
Provide architectural guidance to the project team
Consult with clients on data migrations, systems integrations, and other technical infrastructures related issues
Must be able to manage multiple projects utilizing strong planning and organizational skills
Review the proposal of vendors and suppliers to ensure that quality inputs are delivered at the least possible cost
Explain technical issues and IT solution strategies to stakeholders and other IT professionals
Develop technology standards and patterns that can be repeatedly leveraged across multiple solutions
Analyse the existing technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement

Technology
Strong Experience in at 1 of the following technologies with functional knowledge in any of the others, the more the better:
- Wintel - Windows 2008, 2012 Server, Active Directory, Citrix
- Virtualization (VMWare/HyperV)
- Cloud Services (AWS, MS Azure)
- Database: Microsoft SQL/Oracle (Preferable a person who has driven migrations from Oracle to Microsoft SQL)
- AIX & Linux (IBM/Redhat)
- Storage & Backup (HP 3Par, HP Virtual Tape Library
- Network- (Data Center: F5 Load Balancer/CheckPoint Firewall/Nexus 7K) Office: Cisco Wireless LAN, Cisco Catalyst Campus Networks, Cisco WAAS)
- SAP Basis/SAP HANA - Please note: This Person needs to have knowledge in other areas as well since we don't need a Full time person in SAP)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
General
Technical degree in Computer Science or Math background highly desired
Mandatory Skills/Experience
The areas of technical knowledge for this role are based around architecting end-to-end infrastructure solutions primarily in Microsoft Windows and complementary systems.
Established professional with 10 or more years working in the related technology infrastructure development life- cycles, testing, implementation, systems administration and support or engineering.
Experience in design and engineering highly available and resilient infrastructure solutions
Good understanding of network (WAN, LAN), storage designs, blade technology, clouds, virtualization, performance and capacity management.
Communication: The position involves collaboration with clients, reporting to the lead architect. So, good communication skill is paramount in this role.
Strong written communication skills in English. Strong focus on documentation
High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations
Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
English language proficiency (both written and spoken)
Understanding of application design, system engineering and integration
Desirable Skills/Experience
Good social skills as the level of interaction with various stakeholders is frequent.
