Description
Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting a Communication/Information Officer for an initially 3 month contract based in Peterborough.
Responsibilities:
- support the communications team to provide effective all round communications support to the local Area teams
- work with the local Area teams to source information and identify the right opportunities to achieve positive media coverage for our local work, including through digital channels
- monitor and evaluate media, social media and other communications activity
- draft and produce internal and external communications material (such as a Weekly Buzz, Cascade or blogs)
- work with Environment Agency national News desk and other communications colleagues to produce press releases and media handling plans
- support the creation of any national-once content to support messages providing advice on brand as necessary
- provide support to the Senior Communications Team Leader and other members of the team on forward planning and reporting/evaluation
- work other colleagues to develop and maintain briefing material to support media work and engagement with partners and communities
- provide communications support on specific local and national projects
Essential experience:
- can evidence a good track record of delivering effective communications activity, particular through proactive work with the media
- is a good team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- can evidence good written and verbal skills
