Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Location: South East Rutherford Appleton Laboratory
Contract Length: 6 months with possible longer extension Starting in January

Job Specs:
The ideal candidate would be educated to ONC level or equivalent with relevant associated experience, ie previous experience in the design of mechanical equipment.
Experience required:
General experience in mechanical component design, which should be supported with knowledge of manufacturing processes and the assembly of parts.
Previous experience of how components are machined, fabricated and assembled.
Specific skills:
SolidEdge CAD experience
Production of detailed drawings to BS8888
Mechanical component design of bespoke equipment
Use of Geometric tolerancing and precision machining of parts
Past practical experience in the manufacture and assembly of parts
Desirable:Knowledge of vacuum components
