Position: Product Engineer - Telecom/Wireless
Location: Birmingham, AL
Duration: Contract - open, could lead to full-time
Compensation: $50 - $60hr W2

JOB SUMMARY:

The Product Engineer will be responsible for the testing of the products in the assigned product portfolio, including handset testing, quality testing and network testing. The Product Engineer is responsible for developing test plans and maintaining test specifications, providing product development support to vendors as well as interfacing with Sales and Network Engineering teams. The Product Engineer will also have to resolve customer quality issues.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

Minimum 3 years applicable LTE work experience including:
Bachelor's degree in related Engineering field or Computer Science required
Experience in wireless technology related product engineering and/or product development
Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment with all levels of employees within Engineering teams
PC experience including PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and network compatible application and test tools
Creating and managing product test documentation
Strong handset hardware and software (Android, iOS, etc.) background
Experience with analysing IP data using industry standard tools including Wireshark and QXDM
Experience with analysing RF KPIs using industry standard tools
Experience with LTE, LTE RAN and LTE IMS configurations related to UE testing
Software UI experience
Working knowledge and familiarity with Technical Specification within the industry Standards Bodies including ATIS, OMA, 3GPP and GSMA
Sound understanding of Push To Talk - PTT (LMR, Tetra, WAVE, Kodiak) including Broadband PTT experience desired
Experience interfacing with vendors related to PTT desired
PTT Console experience desired
Experience creating issue/bug lists
Experience with Device Management (DM) preferably with Nokia CDP or IMPACT
Experience with mobile and/or fixed wireless data (Routers, handsets, AVL, etc)

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage each product through the entire hardware and software test cycle
Work directly with product vendors to secure latest products and software releases
Update and maintain product test specifications
Provide second level vendor support
Provide third level support for field personnel
Work closely with RAN techs to troubleshoot UE issues in the field
Provide interface between UE OEM technical staff and Linc Engineering for troubleshooting issues and testing of new services
Secure analysis tools and develop test scenarios to provide UE KPI test procedures and results
