My Southampton based client are looking for an IT Consultant to join their existing IT Team to manage and successfully deliver solutions and improvements to a specific customer, in line with corporate and departmental IT strategy. This role is based in the IT Department, working alongside a delivery team focusing on successful problem management and resolution.Working in a fast paced IT delivery organisation your main responsibilities will be to:
* To work with the customer to determine issues through detailed analysis, and suggest reasonable, workable resolutions;
* To develop a clear and agreed understanding of challenges and change requirements, and then produce high-quality documented proposals that show how to meet those requirements;
* Successfully manage project stakeholders and communications developing strong relations with the key stakeholders and senior managers;
* Produce and present reports and business cases that communicate a compelling case for change and progress;
* Provide quality assurance, providing reports to senior management as required
* Manage risks, providing appropriate controls and escalation and contain issues to avoid escalation from key stakeholders
The successful IT Consultant will:
* Be professional, confident and credible when working with both operational and senior management teams
* Be confident and competent in using data and analytics to gain customer and operational insight, and be able to present evidence to support problem diagnosis and decision-making
* Possess strong influencing & negotiation skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others
* Be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills and ability to acquire a proper understanding of a problem or situation by breaking it down systematically into component parts, identifying relationships and gaps in the available information and devising means of remedying such gaps.
* Be proactive, enthusiastic and with excellent communication skills, you'll be expected to work in partnership with people at all levels across the organisation
* Demonstrate self-motivation with good organisational skills, ability to prioritise, strong customer focus and ability to work under pressure
