Sourcing/Contracts Manager
This role will involve taking responsibility for managing the sourcing of products, services and end-to-end IT solutions as required by the Target Operating Model (TOM) programme.
Main responsibilities
- Managing the end-to-end sourcing process for various TOM programme initiatives
- Performing market assessments to ensure that experience and relevant suppliers are included in the various sourcing projects
- Negotiate both the legal and commercial elements of a contract - legal support will be available, but timelines demand the individual to be suitably experienced with respect to complex negotiations and drafting of contracts and schedules
- Effective stakeholder management - given many of the TOM programme initiatives will be for the benefit of multiple organisational entities, there will usually be multiple stakeholders with different, and occasionally competing imperatives
- Identifying and resolving operational process gaps between services provided by the vendor and services required by Market Users
- Where necessary, creating an Operations guide to provide Market Users with the information necessary to use TOM solutions, including guidance as to the performance of certain tasks
- Effective vendor management - this includes managing vendor relationships as well as taking responsibility for measuring vendor performance against their contractual obligations
- Address requirements (operational, risk etc) and risks that are particularly relevant to market agreements (as opposed to standard B2B agreements).
The Ideal Candidate
- Ability to manage end-to-end multiple sourcing projects without supervision
- Highly proficient at contract/commercial negotiations and contract drafting, specific experience of identifying and negotiating GDPR (or equivalent regulation) provisions is required
- Extensive contract and supplier management experience
- Ability to perform effective stakeholder management in challenging environments
- Effective communication skills
- Demonstrable knowledge of contracting for the provision of software - this includes knowledge of typical implementation methods, hosting options, software specific contractual clauses etc.
- Demonstrable knowledge of contracting for the provision of services - this includes knowledge of typical service delivery models, locations from where services are provided and services specific contractual clauses etc.
- Proficient understanding of the ITIL Service Management Framework (or similar)
- Knowledge of the working practices within the London Insurance Market would be beneficial
- Sold understanding of all aspects of legal contracts
- Experience of leading large sourcing projects within the Insurance industry (or broader Financial Services industry)
- Experience of sourcing and contracting Software Services, BPO, ITO etc
- Experience of effectively managing CXO stakeholders
- Experience sourcing for market arrangements highly beneficial
