Product Controller/Finance Analyst, London 6 month
Tier One Investment Bank is looking to appoint a Product Controller on a contract basis. YOU MUST HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF WORKING IN A TREASURY FUNCTION
A strong Treasury Function is at the heart of any strong well performing bank. Without timely and cost effective funding, there can be no trading. Without strong controls over FX management, FX risks cannot be managed with potential material impacts to the bank's profitability.
Key Responsibilities
The role offers access to the fast moving world of Funding and FX, and the opportunity to interact and collaborate with all areas of the bank eg other PC, FO, FA, Operations and Projects.
Key tasks include:
- Review and present high quality analysis and management information for Treasury Front Office in the form of monthly information packs.
- Work with the other members of the Treasury PC team to ensure that the books and records of Treasury are correctly stated, and allocations to other business lines are fully understood.
- Review and explain the Treasury Funding PL and work with Line PC to understand and resolve funding allocation issues.
- Become a subject matter expert in Funding and FX policy to ensure that support and guidance can be provided to other business lines.
- Involvement in Treasury PC project book of work and interaction with other project teams on the implementation of bank wide initiatives.
Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in PC or FA function
- Treasury knowledge is an advantage but not essential
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Good knowledge of ledger accounting
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and written communications
- Team player and self starter
- Able to learn quickly
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Good exposure to financial markets and products in a product control or FA role. Previous experience or a solid understanding of a Treasury function would be advantageous
- Qualified accountant, ACA, CIMA or ACCA desirable
