Cognos Reporter/Modeler
Main objective/Context
Within Global Technology, the Product Development team is in charge of developing the company's Global Information Systems and maintaining them aligned with company's business needs. To achieve this mission, the team is leading projects from business requirements gathering to project delivery.
In the scope of a large Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence project, the Cognos Reporter/Modeler is responsible for developing Cognos (v10.2) reports according to specifications. The Cognos Reporter/Modeler will be a member of an Agile Scrum Team.
Main responsibilities & duties
Develop Cognos BI reports in v11 according to specification
Liaise with business analyst and business owner to gather business requirements and to define business processes
Liaise with Quality Assurance Analyst to ensure requirement compliance and test coverage
Liaise with the UI development team to undertake Proof of Concept/interactive design tasks as necessary to prove dashboards and reports will meet requirements and can be integrated in the User Interface package/custom layout.
Deliver the expected artifacts with applicable quality standards and performing as expected to the business environment and end user.
Integrate with an Agile Scrum team
Effectively communicate with the rest of the Scrum team (Product Owner, Developer, QA Analyst and Business Analyst).
Indicate performed and upcoming activities as well as known impediment/issues.
Express issues in a clear, consistent and understandable manner (written, verbal).
Take ownership of all assigned tasks and project related assignments.
Ensure direct communication over email/ticketing chain to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.

Proven track record (2 years+) with IBM Cognos (v10.2 a plus) suite

Experience with Development Collaboration Suite (Rally, JIRA, HP QC, SharePoint or equivalent).
Education/Experience
Education
Bachelor or Masters of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent
Experience
2 years experience in building industry proven models/reports for the Cognos platform.
Experience integrating in a Scrum driven development team is a plus.
Multi-cultural experience on geographically distributed projects is a plus.
Travel Industry related experience is a plus.
