Proteus Europe is searching for a Data/Information Architect for a long term contract role based in Brussels, Belgium (with occassional travel to Antwerp)
Languages: Native/fluent language NL or FR (with good knowledge of the other national language) and Good knowledge of EN

Your New role:-
Purpose of the function
- You take care of the complete design (design) of applications according to the needs of the business.
- You analyze complex information problems and can translate these into clear and complete models that fit well with the Business Architecture, Application Architecture and Technical Architecture.
- Outside the modelling of application and information needs you think at an overarching level where you have the various issues of the internal customer can bring together a concrete approach covering various topics
(data quality, data migration, MDM ...).
Main responsibilities
1. Integration of the solutions
- Realize and manage the integration and implementation architecture of the solutions to be built.
- In order to maintain the coherence of the whole (business architecture).
Examples of activities:
. Determine, detail and describe high level dialogue structures for interactive and batch components.
. Ensure customized designs with the project team and the business sponsor.
. Ensure a design validated by the architecture board before starting the execution
. Ensures that the solutions are built according to the described architecture
2. Projects
- Support project managers and project teams during the development of the solution (design and execution), ensure that the solutions are built according to the described architecture
- In order to allow project managers to deliver their project without blockages and within the framework of the solution architecture.
Examples of activities:
. Sends the designs during the execution
. Reports deviations from solutions to the described architecture to the project managers and
operational managers.
3. Definition of solutions
- Defining solutions based on the functional and non-functional requirements ensures the necessary coordination and explanation to the applicant.
- In order to ensure that the solutions meet both the business requirements and the technical requirements requirements
Examples of activities:
. Ensure that the solutions comply with the security regulations.
. Ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are met.
4. Solution alternatives
- To carry out analyzes based on the business requirements and to develop alternatives that are desired to achieve the situation of information provision, applications, technical infrastructure and the like and bars with argumentation (costs, ...)
- In order to guarantee the efficiency of changes and possible acceptances of alternatives ease
Examples of activities:
. Drawing up selection criteria, scenarios
. Making estimates/cost of the solutions and the proposed alternatives
. Determine the risks
5. Architecture principles and standards
- Performing audits and audits (quality assurance on the project results, code coverage, code review ...)
- In order to monitor the architecture principles and standards, to carry them out and to have them applied
Examples of activities:
. Report deviations to the architecture board (leads), project leads, delivery masters, and sponsor and
QA manager.
. Make improvement proposals to allow the architecture principles/standards to evolve.
. To promote and apply the architecture principles and standards.
Your Skills and Qualifications:-
Essential Skills:-
. Level of computer science or equivalent through experience in a similar position + 5 years of experience
. Knowledge of at least 2 of the following disciplines:
o Business Architecture,
o Application Architecture
o Technical Architecture
o Information Architecture
. Communication skills (customer-oriented, management, ...)
. Coaching skills (project team ...,)
. Experience with a model-oriented approach (UML, Data modelling, process modelling).
. Interested in Master Data Management, data quality, data migration and are interested in new ones developments (data mining, big data).
Desirable Skills:-
Experience with PRINCE2
. Experience with SCRUM
. Experience with Jira
. Experience with Enterprise Architect
. Experience in the insurance sector
. Vision on Open Data and Big Data, business analytics and BI
