Overview:
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join an IT services companies based in Dublin on a 12-month day rate contract basis, this is an urgent role and ideally, we would like candidates to start within the coming weeks.
The ideal candidate should have a background in Software Development such as Web, Java, and Python etc as they will be managing the full technical stack and developing Django web applications.
Candidates also need a strong background in Linux as the team works exclusively on Linux systems. You will play a key part in ensuring that these systems can sustain growth and development as demand increases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing DevOps support in a Linux Environment
- Securing Web applications in a Linux Environment
- Building, coding, and configuring of the software development process
- Ensuring the quality of the software release
- Schedule, orchestration, provisioning and deploying software
- Infrastructure provisioning and configuration
- Supporting 24x7 systems
- Automating web development from dev to prod
- Developing bash/python scripts for automation processes
- Automating backup and recovery of code and databases
- Hardening web Servers and blocking and monitoring unwanted traffic
- Implementing/improving robust failover and load balancing
Skills & Experience
- CI/CD tools similar to Jenkins/Docker/Chef/Puppet
- Firewalls, Iptables, firewalld, Fail2Ban, OSSEC or equivalent
- Denial-Of-Service (DOS) protection (DOS deflate or equivalent)
- Nagios or equivalent
- Scaling Web applications using Squid server or equivalent, Apache and web caching
- Developing Web applications on Linux systems
- Web vulnerabilities, SQL injection and cross-site Scripting
- Fault and security intrusion detection, isolation, resolution, log analysis and root cause analysis
- Linux/Unix systems admin skills similar to Centos/Red Hat
- Linux Mail System Administration skills
- MySQL/PostgreSQL DBA experience
- WordPress
- Django
- Source control tools subversion or Git
