Platform Operations Manager to provide operational ownership of our core infrastructure and virtualized platforms that support global business.
Role overview:
You will be an integral part of our Infrastructure team and have primary responsibility for the operational performance and availability of the organisations core Infrastructure which consists of physical & virtualized Servers, shared storage, backup & archiving and cloud infrastructure and services.
You will establish relationships with third party providers and various ICT Teams; working alongside them to ensure that core Infrastructure is running optimally from a performance and capacity management perspective. In this role, you will critique and have overall accountability and signoff for all operational changes in the core infrastructure environment.
As a Platform Operations Manager you will be responsible for:
- Ensure that core infrastructure operational support model is fit for purpose
- Provide direction and take operational ownership for the core infrastructure elements of the global infrastructure, including:
- Core Server Infrastructure - Physical & Virtual
- Software Defined Data Centre (VMware) and hybrid cloud
- Hosting; cloud, Hyper Converged Infrastructure
- Storage; SAN/NAS/Object and Software Defined Storage
- Network; software defined (NSX) networking, basic networking concepts
- Backup & Archiving
- Develop long term vision and operational roadmaps for core infrastructure
- Operational guidance on change management and capacity planning to multi-functional teams
- Negotiate with key stakeholders including prioritization of operational change
- Provide operational insight and reporting from a global core infrastructure perspective
- Develop operational roadmaps for the global core infrastructure environment
Experience required:
- A solid technical understanding of the core infrastructure technologies outlined above.
- Exposure of supporting business critical, high availability infrastructure and environments
- Experience of incident and problem management in complex infrastructure environments
- Experience of supporting a multi-vendor, multi-site and multi-region environment
- Experience of providing operational supporting of large scale infrastructure and environments.
