Technical Engineering Manager/Lead

12 Months Contract
My client is seeking an Engineering Manager with a strong technical background and experience of outsourcing. This role will be based onsite in Cheltenham for an initial 12 months and may extend.
It is imperative that applicants have engineering experience of one of the following to be considered:
- Engineering Systems
- Embedded Systems
- Software Systems
Responsibilities
- Working with all relevant stakeholders, defining and implementing an agreed Outsource plan for the project
- Working with the project to identify work packages to be outsourced and agree the technical and process requirements
- Ensuring technical quality of all deliveries, oversight and training provided to and from 3rd party suppliers
- Work with project and outsource teams to ensure the optimal technical support and oversite is co-ordinated and available to ensure the success of the work packages
- Work with outsource teams to develop sound plans, metrics and reporting paths to ensure full visibility of progress and issues at all times
- Interfacing with the Sourcing organisation to agree and perform planning, commercial, compliance, contract and process activities are completed as required
- Support the creation of statements of work to ensure they are technically compliant to client requirements
- Escalate project risks and issues to ensure mitigations and actions are in place to minimise impacts to project deliveries and costs.
