NextLink is a Swiss IT consultancy company that has been providing both IT services and IT staffing to major customers for the past 20 years.

NextLink is currently looking for an Affiliate PV Communications Manager to work for a well-known pharma company based in London area, UK, for an 11 months contract.

Job Purpose:

The Affiliate PV Communications Manager is responsible for supporting Pharmacovigilance (PV) excellence across company Affiliates through best-in-class communications of global PV standards, practices, processes, systems, metrics, other tools and resources and timely information dissemination. The Affiliate PV Communications Manager develops and manages IPV's global communication strategy, plans and tactics with scope across all company Affiliates, supporting IPV Leaders and sharing of PV information across Affiliates, in order for company Affiliates to be clear in their understanding of their accountability to comply with global PV Regulations and company policies.

Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The Affiliate PV Communications Manager supports and assists the IPV team and company Affiliates in optimizing and ensuring adherence to PV standards through appropriate and timely communications and information dissemination. He/she will collaborate with local and global functions, such as other colleagues in Safety Risk Management, Quality, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, etc. to support optimal company compliance.

The Affiliate PV Communications Manager shall:

  • Support IPV management and other leaders with regular communications
  • Ensure the IPV communication strategy is aligned with the PDS and PD strategies
  • They represent IPV and PDS at PD level affiliate targeted communication strategy setting (eg MCOC comm's)
  • Provide affiliates with a communications platform for their use and aimed at promoting ongoing sharing of best practices.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop a robust and aligned IPV communication strategy aimed at
    • Ensure timely and appropriate cross-functional input into IPV's communication strategy
    • Establish the appropriate cadence and general IPV communication plan for key activities
    • Play the lead role in determining appropriate communication tactics to enable IPV's communication strategy
    • Play the lead role in evaluating and recommending appropriate platforms to execute IPV's communication strategy, including various web platforms, Intranet sites, dashboard applications, meetings, events and other mechanisms
    • Support process improvements and other key initiatives with best-in-class communication strategies and tactics to enable effective and efficient awareness and change management
    • Continuously evaluate communication strategies, plans, tactics, platforms and other resources to identify, recommend and action ongoing improvements
    • Maintain IPV communication and information content across all applicable platforms
    • Project Management of APVM
    • Supports IPV team level communication at team meetings and projects that span across the entire team.

Professional and Technical Requirements:

Strongly desired: Further qualification/certification in project management methodologies and/or change management.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge:

  • Experience in communications, including several years on communications across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Up to date knowledge on interactive media tools and trends and demonstrated ability to work with standard communication tools/interactive media.
  • Excellent written English skills
  • High attention for detail
  • Can work with content owners, including director and above levels, and influence their communications to become clear, concise and fit for purpose from an affiliate perspective.
  • Can provide the IPV Team with expertise in the virtual team tools available.
  • Some drug safety or clinical trials' experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry is strongly preferred
  • Good project and process management skills: can prioritize multiple tasks and goals to ensure timely, on-target and within-budget accomplishment of such
  • Strong interpersonal skills: proven abilities to work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional, often virtual and Matrix teams
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; exhibits professional maturity, confidence and competence. Knows how to summarize and communicate the key points and business case for others to effectively and expeditiously make important decisions
  • Experience with a wide range of data/information: scientific/clinical, safety, legal/regulatory, medical writing, analytics, etc.
  • Multicultural awareness and demonstrated ability to adapt communications accordingly

Travel Requirements: Willing to travel internationally (20%)
