Description

We are currently working on a project and we are looking for experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team.

We are looking for experienced DevOps Engineers to configure and manage Linux Servers. In addition cloud experience (ideally AWS) is absolutely essential. You will need solid Scripting experience in Python or Ruby as well as experience of deploying web services using the same. Strong network protocol knowledge is essential. If you do have knowledge of Puppet or Chef this would be a distinct advantage.

This a great opportunity to join a team working with some great technology in a really exciting environment.

You must have experience of working in an Agile environment as well as knowledge of version control systems.If you have experience of open source monitoring tools, public/private encryption keys this would be an added advantage. For the right candidate this could potentially be a long-term opportunity.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational management of Linux Servers, delivering a complex web application stack
  • Building and configuring new server platforms and the automated tooling to do so
  • Testing, debugging and troubleshooting of platform level problems
  • Provision and maintenance of development & collaboration tooling
  • Automation of tasks using application APIs (eg Google Apps, Jira/Confluence, GitHub)

Skills required

Essential

  • Solid programming skills (eg Python, Ruby, Go, or similar)
  • Understanding of common web application architectures
  • Experience configuring, managing & troubleshooting Linux Servers
  • Experience configuring, managing & troubleshooting databases (preferably MySQL)
  • Experience debugging a complex multi-server service
  • Familiarity with network protocols - TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, etc
  • Experience of working in AWS environments S3 bucket, RDS

Desirable

  • Configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef
  • Deploying and configuring machines in a Cloud environment
  • Understanding of application deployment strategies and continuous integration
  • Working within a product-centric environment
  • Installation and management of open source monitoring tools
