Description

A leading energy company based in the Midlands are looking for experienced CHP Development Engineers for long term contracts.

Job Purpose

To develop investment grade proposals for energy projects in the B2B sector, primarily based around CHP with boiler backup.

To provide technical and engineering concept design, project development and scoping, including capex, battery limits, and project briefs.

The role is externally facing with key accountability to safely develop and originate Commercial and Industrial Energy Projects by delivery of milestone-planning, quotation, and technical specification to internal and external customer expectations. Responsibility for developing customer solutions in conjunction with Sales, and Operations.

To work within ECT Project teams to ensure that all projects have a well-resourced and co-ordinated approach to achieve appropriate specification and speedy delivery of customer solutions.

Main Responsibilities

The role involves taking responsibility for the development of technically and commercially viable projects by evaluation of client's existing infrastructure and energy data to develop conceptual designs for on-site generation solutions. This will also involve visits to customers sites throughout the UK.

Responsible for creation and influence of the technical solution in line with ECT's commercial strategy, assisting continuous growth, whilst exceeding customer expectations in the ECT B2B market.

Create customised strategies for each project to minimise construction risk; and assist the Bid Team Managers in the negotiations with customers to secure the right delivery strategy.

Ensure that the project team have identified any financial and programme opportunities and take measures to maximise potential savings, whilst exceeding customer expectations.

Day to day management and development of a geographically dispersed team of M&E partners, Consultant Engineering partners and large equipment suppliers, ensuring alignment with the budget expectations of the project.

Efficient Management of personal resources to provide technical support on all allocated projects. Using the Top Energy model tool to compare options on the implementation of custom sized plants on time and budget by managing and coaching assigned delivery project managers to mitigate foreseeable technical risks with regards to cost, programme, SHE etc.

Key Skills requirements

Essential

Extensive knowledge of commercial on-site generation technologies (gas engine, steam boiler, absorption chillers, HVAC)

Extensive experience, in a senior design position, and proven track record on variety of energy/M&E projects ranging from small scale commercial CHP/hotwater systems through to major industrial steam/hot water/chilled water/electricity generation and distribution systems.

Extensive experience in managing resources; personal and external, to ensure efficient and complete delivery of information to the Bid management team to ensure that they achieve their full potential and produce a successful Project.

Substantial knowledge and practical use of, current legislation with regards to the Health & Safety, Environmental, Construction and Services Installation that could be applicable to the variety of OSG Energy Projects.
