My client, a top tier Investment Bank based in the heart of London, is seeking an exceptionally strong Head of Stress Testing.
Purpose of the role:
- Design and implement a Stress Testing Strategy and Framework in line with Regulatory Requirements and the Bank's Strategic Business Models and Risk expectations
- Look as possible alignments of stress testing across FPnA, Treasury and Risk
- Support the 3 businesses and create a strategic model in line with overall banks strategic direction
- Support the business in the BAU activity of ICAAP, EBA and PRA stress-testing, looking for automation capabilities
Key role deliverables:
Will include:
- Oversight and implementation of the contribution to a number of group wide capital or stress related exercises, including but not limited to, the ICAAP, EBA,PRA; Reverse Stress Testing.
- Engage the other Risk Departments for their input on the above submissions as appropriate
- Lead efforts for the Stress testing and Portfolio Risk area on legal entity issues
- Identifying, assessing, testing and articulating any key risks & issues impacting on the bank either idiosyncratic, market or a combination of both
- Perform Daily/Weekly/Monthly analysis of Stress Test results and Sensitivities
- Perform Counterparty Credit Exposure and Collateral Analysis across the business
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and lead the efforts on self-assessments for the Stress Testing and Portfolio Risk team
- Ensuring appropriate recovery or action plans are developed for risks/issues or opportunities and managed through to resolution and/or delivery of benefits
- Influencing key senior stakeholders across the organisation, specifically in the shaping of the change agenda, and specific change programmes
- Taking ownership for resolution of specific issues as agreed by the CRO, working with interested parties across the Group, proposing solutions for agreement by the CRO.
Experience:
- Have implemented/run a stress test environment at a major UK/European bank
- Solid understanding of Risk Management across risk groups (Credit Risk, and Liquidity Risk etc.)
- Prior experience in working on Risk Appetite/ICAAP/Stress Testing at a Commercial Bank, Investment Bank, or consulting firm
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to distil technical information and present key facts to influence the decision making at senior management level.

- Strong academic background and product knowledge
- Familiarity with Regulatory environment
- Ability to build strong working relationships across a number of different areas
- Highly organized, with close attention to detail
