Position: Sr. Network Administrator
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Columbia, SC
SUMMARY
- Administers infrastructure including hardware, software, and various configurations.
- Provides administration and maintenance of user devices and communications links to assure operational availability.
- Deploys and administers routing protocols and network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers).
- Administers and tests networking hardware and software.
- Performs remedial maintenance of network devices including the restoration of hardware and software.
CANDIDATE TECHNICAL BACKGROUND:
- Network Cabling Knowledge, Data Center Power Knowledge, Experience physically installing network, server hardware and/or telephony systems.
- Experience using MS Word and Excel.
DAILY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform day-to-day management and maintenance of the facilities that house non-host infrastructure.
- Receive and physically install non-host infrastructure such as Servers and network hardware. Connect those system to the network and power feeds.
- Perform site planning and site prep work such as determining and order the correct power feeds, installing and setting up equipment cabinets, installing and configuring KVM devices, installing patch cabling.
- Decommissioning and de-installing end of life systems.
- Sanitizing or scrubbing Servers to remove sensitive data.
- Updating asset management inventory system to reflect changes made to the infrastructure.
