We are working with the UK and Ireland's leading Roof light manufacturer with an impressive portfolio of innovative solutions and an equally impressive client base, which boasts a wide spectrum of successful projects such as the Wembley stadium and the London Underground.As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the manufacture and commissioning of new technology in all areas of the business. Generally, this will involve the erection of new machinery which, because of the unique nature of their product range, must be conceived, designed, manufactured and installed in house. Operating from a site in Coventry, their current turnover is approximately £22.5M, with a headcount of 160 employees, which covers shop floor operators, drivers, technical experts and other office-based personnel.
You will be expected to work side by side with an apprentice and so team working and mentoring responsibilities will be present.
Essential Characteristics/Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to a minimum of a technical HNC or HND
- Served a craft or tech apprenticeship in either Sheet-metal/Fabrication or tool room. Other similar disciplines would be considered
- Possess a combination of the following preferred skills: CAD, Fabrication, Turning, Milling, Sheet-Metal, Pneumatics, Electrical installation, Technical Drawing Reading, Bench Skills (Filing, Sawing, Fitting, Drilling, Finishing etc), Measurement & Marking-Out, MS Office Software use, Tool-Room Theory and Practice, MIG Welding, Mechanical Assembly skills, Limits and Fits knowledge, Electrical Component Identification and use.
