Description

This position is to be developed and supported to become a UCKG producer in the TV Department. Creative input and the level of decision making varies, as this is dependent on management and each project. Producers are responsible for facilitating a project from beginning to end. They are involved in every stage of the project, film or video and overseeing the project from start to finish, both in the studio and on location. This role will involve work as a producer and at times, require Voice Over or presenter work for the UCKG TV and Radio programmes.

You will receive on the job guidance and be required to work on the following tasks:

Pre-Production

  • Write/edit scripts for studio and other shoots where necessary
  • Liaising with organisations/persons/companies on behalf of the programme
  • Contacting and booking guests using all forms of media and communication
  • Building links and contacts with outside organisations
  • Maintaining links with current and new contacts/contributors
  • Adding new contacts to contact list
  • Arranging location filming on little/no budget when required
  • Contacting camera operators and other technical staff
  • Coordinating the booking, filming and completion of regular programme segments
  • Carry out extensive research and gathering ideas for programme items
  • Create text and narrations on various subjects to be used in the programmes and testimonies where required
  • Prepare reports

Production and Studio

  • Greet guests at studio and on location making them feel welcome
  • Prepare green room at studio
  • Manage scripts, ensuring tat guests, presenters and crew are fully aware of content and structure of filming
  • Liaise efficiently with director and technical crew
  • Expose and narrate facts, conduct interviews relevant to the facts narrated where required
  • Select the images and effects that must be transmitted and/or recorded by directing the camera(s) on positions and angles of shots.
  • Must ensure the completion of all legal and non-leagal documentation required by the participant for the use of the image in media
  • Planning/coordinating and presenting vox pops/street interviews where necessary
  • Journalist duties - interview people for programme/testimonies/UCKG events/other programmes as required

Post Production

  • Working closely with the editor on location and regular programme segments
  • Coordinate the work of sound, images, recordings, videos, effects and more overseeing the editing and production of material
  • Overseeing video output to ensure they meet the goals of the shows
  • Ensure there are sufficient images and material with quality for editing

Other Duties

  • Monitoring, maintaining and making use of social media platforms
  • Develop an understanding of audiences, and how different programmes respond to different audience needs
  • Develop an understanding of programmes target audience and how to tailor programme output to reach this audience
  • Suggest ideas to improve the shows/programmes and actions on how they can be implemented
  • General and specific administrative duties within the TV department
  • To follow all procedures as set within the TV department
  • To complete all tasks and responsibilities as set by the department manager
  • To complete all tasks and responsibilities as required by the programmes executive producer
