EXPECTATIONS:

Ability to multitask, manage changing priorities, context switching and effectively working in an environment with interruptions.

Ability to effectively work with fellow engineers to assess risk areas, devise and execute test strategies, and monitor quality, based on testing results.

Ability to become and remain proficient in assigned programs as necessary and to perform the duties of this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Execute assigned test plans and determine pass/fail based on provided criteria.

2. Determine tests absent from test plans and submit new relevant tests to improve test coverage.

3. Identify, submit, and verify anomalies found in products and assist as necessary in the resolution process.

4. Collate and provide test metrics

5. Apply subject matter expertise to identify, develop, and implement techniques to increase efficiencies, mitigate risks, and resolve issues.

6. Interface with partners both in person and by electronic means as required.

7. Work and coordinate with internal and external team members, contractors and customers as required.

8. Support business and product owners in their decision-making by carrying out research, analyses and recommendations.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent experience is required.

2. Minimum of 1 years of current experience with Network Engineering. As a Network Engineer, the candidate is expected to understand routing/switching best practices.

3. Ethernet networking skills such as layer 2 switching, layer 3 switching & routing, wireless, VPNs, VLANs, and network security devices and Fluent with Cisco CLI.

4. Troubleshooting and debugging skills and ability to recreate discovered Ethernet network anomalies.

5. Strong written and verbal communications skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Powerpoint. Ability to create and write high quality documentation.

6. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

7. Excellent time management skills.

8. Knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.

9. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

10. Organized and detail-oriented; able to effectively perform multiple/concurrent tasks within deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Bonus:

1. Bonus: Cisco CCNA Certification.

2. Bonus: The ability to record and analyze packet captures to debug issues.

3. Bonus: Automation control systems based on Ethernet networks. Systems experience includes programming, developing, configuring and debugging Rockwell Automation RSLogix5000 software, ControlLogix/CompactLogix programmable automation controllers, drives, I/O, bridges, adapters, Ethernet control networks and Factory Talk View SE.

4. Bonus: Can program and edit Python scripts.
