Tax Accountant (ATT/CTA) - Coventry - 12 month contract
Our client in the utilities industry requires a Tax Accountant (ATT/CTA) with tax specific experience and qualifications. This role is based in Coventry on a 12 month contract.
The role: You will be responsible for the preparation of the UK corporation tax computations and returns for a number of companies, preparing tax information for quarterly and year end reporting, drafting responses to HM Revenue and Customs enquiries in respect of these companies and preparation of the year-end tax calculations for statutory accounts purposes.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of corporation tax computations and return forms for review by the Direct Taxes Manager, based on information supplied by the businesses.
- Input into the calculation of the quarterly payments on account for the group.
- Drafting responses to corporation tax queries raised by HM Revenue & Customs, including liaison with the businesses to obtain the necessary information.
- Preparation of tax calculations and disclosures for the year-end statutory accounts including the deferred tax workings.
- Assistance with ad hoc queries raised by the businesses in respect of corporation tax issues.
- Preparation of tax calculations for the quarterly and year end group reporting.
- Providing guidance/training to the businesses where the need arises
- Assisting in the delivery of projects as and when required.
Scope of decision making*:
- Advising the business with regards investment proposals and any ad hoc corporation tax queries.
- Discussing and agreeing tax treatment adopted for statutory accounts and reporting purposes with auditors.
