Investment Accountant (Real Estate) - London
We have a 2-3 month requirement for an experience investment accountant to join AIG to cover absence.
This role is based in London.
This position is to provide cover for accountant who is currently on sick leave and will work directly with the investment accountant covering the financial reporting for the real estate equity asset class invested on behalf of the AIG insurance companies. The accountant will be responsible for the accounting, tax, reporting and treasury aspects of investments within the AIG Insurance Company investment portfolio and will provide support on due diligence and investment structuring activities on new acquisitions.
This position requires someone who is motivated, interested in learning and very attentive to detail. The individual for this position should be comfortable working and contributing to a team environment and enjoy being in a busy environment where new and complex transactions occur. The role will involve liaising with parties both within and outside the organisation and requires an individual who has strong communication and presentation skills.
EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Qualified Accountant. Experience in working in real estate industry preferred. Minimum three years of experience post qualification.
Must have experience working under pressure with various projects and deadlines while reporting to multiple people.
Detail oriented and willing to take a hands on approach in all elements of the job.
Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, budgeting, transaction analysis and review.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITY
Preparation of investment level financial reporting on the AIG insurance Company including quarterly reporting packages, variance analysis and budget information.
Preparation of funding packages for capital calls and distributions, preparation of cash-flows and maintenance of equity commitment schedules.
Liaison with finance teams within the AIG Insurance Company with regard to the investment portfolio to ensure that they are kept well-informed with respect to both investment activities and accounting matters.
Providing support on establishing new investment structures and assisting in review of new transactions.
Review and analysis of financial reporting provided including GAAP financial statements, cash flows, income tax reporting and other project specific reporting.
