Engineering Manager
Location: Bristol
Rate: GBP 532.83 UMBRELLA/GBP 424.28 PAYE
Duration: 6 months

The role:
To direct and manage the resources and ensure delivery of engineering outputs to enhance capability and reputation; and to maintain standards and improve the quality of products, services and advice to customers. To apply engineering knowledge to direct the development of work plans, including defining improvements to systems, capabilities and/or process, and contribute to setting the strategic direction in that area. To direct, monitor and carry out work to ensure the delivery of the team's agreed outputs using existing and emerging engineering practice, whilst maintaining and enhancing the credibility, integrity and reputation. To influence and negotiate with customers and stakeholders at an equivalent specialist level to ensure the successful delivery and pull through of their projects and to promote the engineering reputation. To recruit, motivate and develop teams and improve ways of working to increase effectiveness and productivity. To manage engineering projects across the client body to deliver key engineering outputs and improve systems or products.
Applicant must either have a safety related MSc (or equivalent) or have completed the internal MOD Systems Safety Management courses.
