Job Title - Site Solutions Lead Engineer

Job Location - Dublin, Ireland

Job Role:

The Site Solutions Engineer has an Engineering role in acquisition and engineering topics, coordinating and supporting the rollout organisation in regard to technical acquisition and engineering issues and solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineer a team of engineers, across disciplines such as AC/DC power, RBS design, site civils and rigging work, TDM/IP transmission solutions.
  • Act as the point of escalation within the team on any technical queries or problems.
  • Drive improvements within the operations of the Site Solutions team, work to implement processes and methods that may have effect on the service supply quality vs. contracted scope of work for the service supply.
  • Adapt and evolve the processes, standards, methods and tools within the service family Site Acquisition, Civil Works and Site Engineering.
  • Attend meetings within the client and with the Customer about site solutions activities and act swiftly over the action points and the concerns raised by the customer.
  • Assist with the Technical Resource Planning (TRP) for the Site Solutions Team
  • Ensure key positions are delegated to personnel with adequate training and skills to perform the task to ensure that these are according to the service delivery requirements.
  • Bring to the attention of the site solutions manager any issues or escalations that require further support
  • Recognize the training requirement for the staff and do mentoring & coaching where required.
  • Define requirements in the CW Specification in terms of:
    • Access - ensure no restrictions to facility access that would hinder permitting, facility design and construction, and/or ongoing maintenance operations.
    • Building Codes - Specify design and construction codes to be used and monitor to assure that relevant codes are used and complied with.
    • Environmental - provide equipment and personnel Environmental Specifications to facility design and construction engineers to ensure proper environment is built into the project design and construction.
    • Facilities/Utilities - Specify all necessary facilities/utilities required by the equipment and personnel planned to be deployed at the facility.
    • Image - review any historical, architectural, camouflage, and/or antenna height requirements of the area.
    • Physical Space - provide design and construction engineers with physical space requirements for the current and planned future product/network equipment to be installed in the facility.
    • Quality Performance Measures - define how Service Providers performance will be measured and reported. Consequences of excellent and/or poor performance must be understood by the Service Providers

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience with Telecommunications Civil Works Installation and related activities
  • Site installation experience with other products supplied by Ericsson eg Power systems, Antenna systems, Microwave link, transport equipment and other 3rd party site products.
  • Installation knowledge and familiarity with regulatory and Customer Site Design Guidelines used for Installation of different Ericsson & 3rd Party Products in a network environment.
  • Proficient in using the Site Handler database, entering data, setting-up and generating reports.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing subcontractors (ASP/SP)
  • Have excellent planning and scheduling skills.
  • Knowledge in root cause analysis/problem solving and the ability implement/drive corrective actions and efficiencies.
  • Have good customer and sub-contractor relation skills.
  • Experience of relevant tools like Site Handler
  • Good understanding of Microsoft office applications
