Our client are a large local government organisation and are looking for an experienced Procurement Officer to join their team. This is initially a 12 month contract which may be extended for the right candidate. Our client is looking for someone who can come on board and provide a professional sourcing, purchasing and supplier management function for various goods and services.
The successful applicant will be required to support Category Managers ensuring the expenditure on goods and services provides best value for money and meets their ultimate Procurement Strategy. You will also source goods and services and manage the supplier relationship ensuring risks of contract failure are minimised and that processes comply with relevant legislation and their financial procedures to earn best value.
To be considered for this role you will ideally be an experienced CIPS qualified procurement professional, preferably with experience of working within a public sector environment. It is also essential that you have experience of OJEU to be considered for this role.
