Project Buyer -
We are looking for a Senior Buyer to work in conjunction with the selected vendor who will implement a CRM system for Our Client, working with colleagues in Bath and Nottingham. The role can be based in Bath or Nottingham and regular travel will be required between the two locations.
You will be leading the project working with internal stakeholders and potential suppliers. Procurement support (process and documentation) will be provided by theProcurement team in Nottingham, but the project stakeholders will be our client employees in Bath.
Our Client don't have a Procurement function, so the successful applicant will need to have a considerable amount
of experience in delivering projects, which includes the project management of the activity to the point of successful implementation.
Project Buyers Responsibilities?
Creating and gaining approval for the project plan
Negotiate with suppliers ensuring the lowest total cost of acquisition
Working with the legal team where required, negotiation of the contract terms
Facilitating meetings with key suppliers and business stakeholders and influencing behaviours as required
Adherence to Procurement best practice
Work the finance team to ensuring budgetary approval is in place and good governance is maintained
Prepare tender documentation including RFP
Include the selection of a CRM vendor software package and associated Systems implementation partner
Define the end to end RFP process, templates and assessment approach, including
o A gap fit analysis of the vendor and client requirements
An associated commercial analysis and negotiation process for the selection
Experience assembling scoring assessment models for RFPs preferred but not essential
Provide regular progress updates to the key stakeholders and obtain support for mitigation of risks and issues

Proven experience of working as a Buyer, preferably in a fast-paced organisation where driving innovation and being first to market is a priority
Experience buying across different categories/industries would be an advantage
Negotiation skills and business acumen
Ability to analyse numerical and non-numerical data
Proven project management skills
Ability to lead and influence relationships, internally and externally, at all levels
Strong administration skills and commercial awareness
Time management
- ability to manage own time and priorities
Ability to work with limited guidance and able to respond to changing business needs.
Commercial law
- good understanding of contractual law, including risks and drafting experience
It's a bonus if you're CIPS qualified or have experience of Oracle, Ariba and SharePoint, but training will be provided
