Description

We currently have an opportunity for a Data Analyst to join one of our clients on a high profile, business critical project. Sitting as part of the Finance function, the project is designed to understand the consequences of a new industry reporting standard. As well as understanding the implications of the new standard the client will also require updates to their processes to ensure that the results can be delivered within an acceptable timeframe. Therefore, a Solution Delivery workstream will be created to first understand the required changes and then design and implement a new process.

As such, the Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the development of a number of artefacts during the Detailed Design phase, these include:

The data sourcing plan including development of revised source system feeds and associated data definitions
The plan and approach for the Data Quality Management Framework and exception handling
Data storage capability to meet programme requirements
Definition of local master data requirements including definition and sourcing
Document how the gap between current and target Chart of Accounts will be met
ETL requirements and associated data mapping rules
Data specifications
Documentation of Key Design Decision Papers

We invite applications from candidates with the following skills and experience;
Understanding of data structures and flows in the context of a Finance (accounting and actuarial) and Insurance environment
Ability to interpret accounting and actuarial requirements and convert into data requirements and data specifications
Ability to execute detailed impact assessments for changes to processes, systems, and reporting
Understanding of the data attributes captured within Policy Administration and Contract Administration systems and how these can be stored within a data warehouse
Change management/transformation experience, including an understanding of what is required to re-platform capabilities
Working knowledge of SAS, Oracle Data Warehouse technology, Cognos/ETL or Insurance Assets Interpretation of business requirements which inform functional and non-functional changes to IT systems
Design of new internal reporting including key performance indicators alongside defining and agreeing the associated changes to governance
Ability to actively engage and influence key stakeholders and track record of completion of project build deliverables to required standards and deadlines
Collaborator who is able to work to tight deadlines without compromising accuracy
Change management and transformation experience, including a strong understanding of how business change impacts and is supported by IT change
