Overview:

The mission of the Legal department is to ensure that legal services are provided to Deutsche Bank with the goals of protecting the integrity and reputation of the Bank; managing legal risk to make transactions viable and safe and partnering with Risk, Compliance, Audit and others to provide a proactive integrated risk management approach.

As a Legal Counsel, you'll be supporting the DWS Asset Management business, with a particular emphasis on the "Passive" business line which specializes in exchange traded products, in particular Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and Exchanged-traded commodity certificates (ETCs) under the well-known Xtrackers brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal support for the Passive business with particular emphasis on the Xtrackers ETFs and ETCs business
  • Overseeing the establishment of new funds and certificates, including new platforms as necessary
  • Reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of funds and certificate offering documents such as prospectuses, Key Investor Information Documents (KIIDs) and final terms
  • Troubleshooting, including dealing with breaches, restructurings, disputes, regulatory change and other legal and commercial issues
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts with service providers such as investment managers, depositaries, distributors and index providers

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Law Degree or other honours degree plus CPE or LPC qualifications.
  • Qualified Solicitor/international equivalent
  • Ability to read complex legal documents with confidence and understanding.
  • Good legal drafting ability and detail oriented.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal skills and written skills.
