Job Description

The role will provide key project control support to the Manufacturing Shared Services team who deliver multiple plant and equipment projects across multiple programmes and customers at Samlesbury. The Delivery Manager/CAM has management responsibility for one or more control accounts, ensuring their defined scope of work is achieved to the budget, timescale and quality standards required by the project.

The implementation of a new ERP system in October 2018 will significantly increase the Project Control workload within the team and the role is required to support this increase in workload in terms of setting up new internally funding projects and provide essential cover for other team members a supporting the Control Accounts.

Your skills and qualifications

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the principles of Earned Value Management, and generic project management processes and procedures
  • Good knowledge and experience of working with project control systems
  • Knowledge of IT business systems (ERP systems (eg BaaN or SAP) desirable but not essential)
  • Good stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate to all levels internally and where appropriate, with the customer
  • Ability to interrogate and challenge data
  • APM accreditation or equivalent desirable

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring that internal investment projects are set up correctly within the new ERP system (Infor LN), carrying out the Project Control Integrator role as defined by the Project Management Function.
  • Working closely with other functions (Finance and Procurement) to ensure consistent setup and approach to internal projects.
  • Release activities to allow procurement activities and hours booking to commence in a timely manner in line with approved budgets
  • Ensure projects are closed in a timely manner to allow depreciation of assets to commence.
  • Support to other project controllers to ensure that CAM's defined scope of work is correctly entered, managed and delivered within the respective project control toolsets to budget, schedule and quality constraints
  • Support to project reporting and Management Reviews
  • Support the Integrated Business Planning process
  • Support local capability developments and transformation initiatives
