Workday Functional Analyst

Contract. 6 months +. Dublin. Competitive. Global Retailer

Workday Functional Analyst required urgently to work with a Global Retailer in Dublin. You will work on the global role out of Workday and be responsible for ensuring that current configuration and processes work as designed and will lead the deployment of new or improved workday functionality and on-going process improvement including configuration, testing, end user engagement, communications and training. A critical component of the role will be an escalation point from the People Systems Service Delivery team for complex issues or challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Escalation point for Workday process or configuration issues raised by end users through the people systems service delivery team - being a Named Support Contact with Workday.
  • Workday functional expertise - specifically Absence, Talent and Performance OR Compensation and benefits as this role will have specific responsibility for either area.
  • Design, configure, Test and deploy Workday process or functional changes based on identified business and functional requirements - including process and testing documentation completed within Change Management governance framework.
  • Close engagement with country P&C (HR) teams to respond to business needs and build appropriate solutions.
  • Working closely with the people systems integration teams to ensure the end to end processes are documented and testing is completed to the required quality.
  • Ensuring that twice yearly Workday releases go live successfully.
  • Consistently seeking for and driving process efficiencies that remove administration effort from end users.
  • Facilitating solution design workshops.
  • Keeping up to date with Workday functional changes and improvements
  • Design, write and vet functional specification for configuration, enhancements, new designs, interfaces and reports.
  • Work with Business Users and functional analyst to develop required training materials and execute training within agreed project timelines.
  • Maintain an informed position on all people systems service delivery activity and related issues affecting the overall delivery, effectiveness or quality of programs within a component of People Systems.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Workday HCM Certified
  • Workday Report Writer
  • Workday Absence Management, Talent Management and/or Performance Management OR Compensation/Benefits
  • Workday experience (implementer or customer roles)
  • Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to lead projects work streams and carry out development work
  • Strong interpersonal skills - diplomatic, discreet, trustworthy and have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all levels both within the organisation and in the external environment.
