Description

Currently Templeton & Partners is looking for an Experienced Big Data Engineer to join one of our international clients for a position in Antwerp, Belgium of 6 months with option of extension.

The Task

Templeton & Partners is looking for a strong communicative Big Data Engineer who will be part of large team and be part of a whole new concept within my client's company using your Big Data Knowledge.

Some of your key activities will include

  • Design and implement distributed data processing pipelines.
  • Build utilities, user defined functions, and frameworks to better enable data flow patterns.
  • Research, evaluate and utilize new technologies/tools/frameworks.
  • Define and build data acquisitions and consumption strategies
  • Build and incorporate automated unit tests, participate in integration testing efforts.
  • Work with teams to resolving operational & performance issues
  • Work with architecture/engineering leads and other teams to ensure quality solutions are implements, and engineering best practices are defined and adhered to.

Our client is looking for you to have experience and skills in

  • 5 years of experience in software development.
  • Minimally 2 years of Big Data Experience.
  • Programming skills with Java,
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with NOSQL
  • Hands on Experience with Python

Nice to have experience or skills

  • Experience with messaging & complex event processing systems such as Kafka and Storm
  • Machine learning frameworks
  • Statistical analysis with R or similar
