Java Developer, Dublin, Insurance

An experienced Java contractor is required by global insurance company with headquarters in Dublin for a large and wide-ranging business critical project. Following a review of their products, they are launching a new range of products and are building a new portal for customers and brokers to enable them to quote, buy, and manage their policies. You will be involved in the building of this portal so you must be able to demonstrate strong UI skills.

In addition to the building of the portal, there is a large scale migration underway involving the moving of hundreds of thousands of existing policies from one set of systems to another. The new system is also being configured to handle both old and new policies. These systems will need to integrate with the new portal in order to provide a comprehensive and seamless service to both policy-holders and brokers.

You will have the following experience:

  • Development of software using enterprise Java.
  • Strong understanding of Design Patterns
  • Spring (or similar dependency injection container)
  • Systems integration tools and technologies such as ESB, API Gateway, Web Services, REST etc.
  • Development within a Microservice architecture.
  • Object Relational Mapping tools such as Hibernate
  • Database schema design
  • Development of dynamic web applications using AngularJS, JQuery, Javascript.
  • Development of web application user interfaces with HTML, CSS.
  • Agile
  • Cruise Control, Jenkins/Hudson etc
  • Automated acceptance tests using frameworks such as Selenium, Fitnesse etc.
  • Test driven development techniques using
  • Frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, JMock, EasyMock etc.
