Linux Support Engineer, Dublin, Contract
An enticing company based in Dublin is in need of a Linux Support Engineer. In this role you'll be able to work with the most up to date technologies in this role, and will have the power to solve challenging customer problems.
Your responsibilities would include providing technical support to customers, assisting customers with installation and usage of each delivered build of the product, and the troubleshooting and resolving of often complex issues customers have with the product.
A successful candidate could have:
- Experience working in a Linux/UNIX system admin role
- Knowledge of Red Hat Linux including standard services, protocols, applications, software updates and data recovery
- Experience working with virtualized environments
- Proficiency with at least one Scripting language, such as Python or Bash
- Familiarity with different layers in the OSI model
- Experience working with various network protocols
- Experience working with HP Blade and Rack Mount hardware
- Working with JBoss applications
- Working in an Agile software development environment
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues.
