Central Credit Risk Manager role

The purpose of the role:

The purpose of the role is to build the full IFRS 9 system, implement and maintain it. Assist the CCO in managing and monitoring the credit risk and credit appetite of the bank and underwriting larger credits.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of IFRS 9 systems.
  • Assist the CCO in the development of and implementation of credit appetite policy.
  • Assist the CCO in the establishment of an appropriate credit risk environment.
  • Assist the CCO in determining concertation risk and policy.
  • Underwrite credits sent to Credit and Risk which are outside online underwriting policy or limits.
  • Define, plan and implement the Bank's credit management and monitoring strategy and process.
  • Help define and implement a direct credit application process for Brokers, utilising appropriate credit data and analytical tools.
  • Ensure excellent service is given to Relationship Managers and brokers alike.
  • Ensure compliance with all mandatory policies.
  • Adherence to credit procedures to maintain internal credit controls.
  • Establish and actively manage a personal development plan.
  • Provide leadership and development in the creation and support of the credit team.
  • Ensure all advances are appropriately documented and lien positions secured.
  • Help develop appropriate MI and KPI indicators and reporting.

Experience:

  • Deep understanding of IFRS 9.
  • Experience implementing IFRS 9 from scratch throughout the entire end to end process.
  • Experience in SME commercial lending.
  • Experience in of decision making personal with a significant DLA and Credit Committee level. Practical arrears management and policy setting.
  • In depth understand of Accounts and cash flow projections .
  • Entrepreneurial and a commercial knowledge of SME funding issues.
  • Developed and detailed understanding of credit risk and concentration risk.
  • In depth knowledge of appropriate credit search and data tools to enhance the credit decision process.
