Position Summary

We seek a seasoned Scrum Master who can help lead and support Data Strategy teams focused on building next generation Enterprise Data Warehouse Platform. As Scrum Master you will utilize communication, technical, and organization skills to remove impediments, enhance collaboration, and ensure that the team delivers value to the Platform. Your chief objective is to ensure that the team produces the highest quality software possible providing tangible value to the system. You must have demonstrated ability to effectively coach a software team in an Agile environment, who been to Waterfall model for years. Servant-Leadership, organizational, and motivational strengths are essential.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Arrange for daily stand-up meetings, facilitate and schedule meetings, demo and follow local scrum ceremonies (daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective, etc.)
  • Properly manage the backlog and aid team in determining suitable commitments for product backlog items and sprints
  • Help balance the prioritization of technical debt against new feature innovation and software delivery
  • Create a positive and easy communication channel (team, product owner, stakeholders, source systems)
  • Protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions and remove impediments
  • Address team dynamics, resolve conflict and resource constraints
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity and innovation
  • Use VSTS (Azure DevOps) as a tool to assist scrum team efficiency
  • Coach Agile practices
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Lead and direct the work of others in a Matrix, cross-organizational project team
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate project portfolio management software
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project l ife cycle
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations in team meetings and Steering Committee meetings as appropriate
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and work with other department managers to obtain commitments on assignments
  • Adhere to Client's PMO methodology and standards
  • React to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently

Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree preferred

PMP certification is a plus

Agile certification such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) is required.

3-5 years of Agile delivery experience/recent hands-on experience as a Scrum Master

Banking/Financial Services experience

Experience on software development/Data Warehouse Development teams with an understanding of software development and software quality disciplines

Strong understanding of Scrum and Kanban principles

Passion for leading Scrum teams to continually improve quality and delivery

Proficient in agile/scrum development methodology

Ability to work both in a team and alone

Working knowledge of a leading relational database management system (preferably SQL Server) Experienced using project management software, such as MS Project

Proficient with MS Office applications for reports, analysis, and presentations

Results-oriented working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to be influential and establish positive working relationships throughout the organization

Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including management, team members and stakeholders

Outstanding organizational and effective time management skills

Strong verbal presentation and communication skills to confidently lead meetings

Ability to obtain, analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources

Can effectively respond to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
