World Leading Global Energy Oil Company has an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist with Machine Vision experience to join this Advanced Analytics Data Science team Centre of Excellence, taking responsibility for using cutting-edge technology to deliver Data Science projects in an agile fashion to enable insights & improvements to business data and processes.

This is an exciting time to be involved, at the creation of the Centre of Excellent within the new Digitalisation department.

The environment is similar to a start-up, with rapid and agile development of POCs, scaled-up when appropriate.

About the Role:

  • Working with business to prepare requirements and technical feasibility for projects, based on data and hardware requirements
  • Designing & testing algorithms (with the support of data engineers) and deploying these algorithms
  • Assessing new technologies and techniques in terms of viability
  • Supporting development of the digital strategy
  • Working with different vendors to develop understanding of the state-of-the-art techniques and technologies (eg AWS, Google, Microsoft)

About You:

  • Master degree/PHD in statistics, mathematics, theoretical science, operational research or computer science
  • Proven experience in Machine Vision
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, or Caffe2, Theano
  • Hands-on development (R, Python, MatLab, SAS, Scala)
  • Expertise in data source extraction (ETL) is also strongly preferable (HANA, SQL, Oracle, SharePoint, Hadoop, Spark)
  • Ability to write clean, elegant and maintainable production-level code
  • Creative problem solver and team player with strong communication skills and the ability to deal with senior business stakeholder
