Paralegal - Vendor Management and Legal Billing
Our client, a global tier 1 investment bank, is looking for a Paralegal to join their Invoicing and Vendor Management team within the Legal Department. This is a contract role for 6 months initially and they are able to offer around £300 per day. The role is based in London.
The role will be responsible for managing a variety of enterprise high risk and low risk law firms and legal support vendors while also supporting the international Legal Invoice team for those firms/vendors. You will be required to analyse and negotiate international outside counsel rate proposals for the Outside Counsel Rates team.
Accountability
- This role will have responsibilities for vendor deliverables, vendor assessments, vendor compliance, contract administration and negotiation, issue management, reporting, and ad hoc project support.
- You will develop law firm and vendor relationships internally with Process Owners, Compliance and Risk partners, as well as with external vendor and law firm contacts.
- Manage the process for collecting data from law firms and legal support vendors.
- Support various relationship management routines, including international invoicing.
- You will also be required to Review and process international legal invoices, monitor invoice flows and issues.
- Coordinate onsite information security assessments and drive remediation of risk findings.
- Analyse, negotiate and report outside counsel rates
- Overseeing due diligence efforts in the selection and onboarding of approved Legal vendors.
- Partnering with the Sourcing group as appropriate on negotiating and contracting with vendors.
- Coordinating onsite information security assessments and driving remediation of deficiencies.
- Identifying and remediating vendor risks and escalating unmitigated risks.
- Monitoring vendor performance and completing enterprise deliverables.
- Building strong vendor relationships.
Skills and experience
- 5+ years' experience in Legal billing or Legal Vendor Management, preferably from a law firm background.
- Sourcing/Procurement experience would also be preferred
- Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Offices
- Familiarity with GIS standards and baselines and how they apply to technology environments (Proficiency strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with Sourcing model and requirements
- Familiarity with governance policies, due diligence, and routines as they relate to third party solutions
