Description
We are a London based consultancy firm, currently looking for a self-employed electrical engineering manager to work as a consultant at an international nuclear research facility in the south of France.BACKGROUND
The project is technically high-profile, with a need for interfacing with designers in India and Japan, as well as in a wide mix of European countries (CH, D, E, F, GB, I). The working language is English, so the applicant must be fluent in both written and spoken English. However, fluency in the languages of any of the other countries mentioned above would be an added advantage.
SCOPE
The need is for a manager to follow-up the design process of HV, MV, and LV power supply systems for a major peripheral unit for the project. Between 5 and 10 years’ experience of electrical analysis methods and tools (such as PSIM, MATLAB) is desirable, along with a proven track-record in HV, MV and LV design, and a knowledge of the relevant industry standards and technical specifications.
DURATION
The contract would be for 1 year initially, with optional 1 year extensions.
DESCRIPTION
The work comprises the following:
- Follow up design progress of the components and ensure high cross-compatibility between the different sources,
- Coordination of the technical design and follow up of its implementation by suppliers,
- Approval testing of deliverables (technical specifications, drawings, analysis report, and documentation),
- International Project Management interfacing with institutes and industry from several European (I, D, E, UK, CH) and overseas (India, Japan) countries.
- Technical and project documentation.
The candidate should:
- be fluent in English (written and spoken),
- have a profound knowledge of electrical analysis methods and tools (eg PSIM, MATLAB),
- have proven experience in the design of power supplies (HV, MV, LV),
- have experience in product development processes and project management,
- be able to produce minutes, reports and industry standard technical specificationsand other documentation in English.
