App Dynamics Performance Management
Alpharetta, GA (can be performed remotely)
$70/hr - 75/hr W2
6+ month contract
Responsibility for the configuration of App Dynamics to support Application Performance Management for various business applications within the IT environment. Planning, design, development and support of solutions to drive improvements in performance and reliability in business applications. Partner with business teams to define objectives and delivery schedules to meet given business requirements. Drive improvements within the application monitoring space, inputs into process and procedural improvements to ensure timely delivery of solutions.
Essential Functions of the Job:
The role of Application Performance Monitoring Engineer will center on the following points:
Configuration of App Dynamics
o Planning & design of solutions to support new business applications
o Support & improvements to existing business applications
o Communication & education of App Dynamics capabilities within the business application teams
o Documentation of developed solutions to ensure consistent ongoing support
Work directly with the business application teams to define requirements and priorities
Identify & analyze performance issues within the Application code
Identify & analyze DB performance and network performance bottlenecks within the application
Work as primary point of contact for Application Performance Monitoring within the Americas region
Level 3/Level 4 support in the incident & problem management process for App Dynamics and support of the Operations team
Input into process and procedural improvements
Preparation of material and processes to improve efficient and timely delivery of solutions
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
The role requires the individual to work closely with the global monitoring team to support the Americas region. In addition the role requires decision makings relating to:
Apply specific knowledge of App Dynamics & application development/programming to develop solutions that will enhance the value Application Performance Management.
Support the validation and deployment of major and new versions of tools
Support the development roadmaps for APM tools with input from current & previous experiences
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Ability to deal with escalations and difficult situations/people under pressure
Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences
Expert knowledge of App Dynamics
Strong knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring tools (including Application Insight/Azure Monitor)
Strong programming in C# and/or Java
Scripting skills using JavaScript or PowerShell would be definitely a plus
Good knowledge of databases development (MS SQL)
Good working knowledge in Operating Systems (MS Windows, Linux, UNIX) and/or Networking (WAN, LAN, Firewall) and all associated services like Active Directory, DNS, File & Print, TCP/IP, and Routing protocols
English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication
Supervision Responsibilities:
It is expected that the individual is able to work with a high level of independents, defining priorities in alignment with the Cloud & Platform Monitoring Team and seeking actively direction and guidance as and when required. An active participation in and contribution to weekly team internal meetings as well as meetings with operational teams is needed. Active communication to ensure information flow/
sharing within team to reconfirm direction, prioritization of tasks and escalations as appropriate.
The role requires the individual to provide technical knowledge transfer and coaching for a number of associated colleagues from operations working in the same System Management space and tools. These colleagues will be at different levels, having different levels of knowledge about the System Management solution.
Other Requirements:
Flexible Hours - due to the global nature of the role it may require the individual to attend calls outside of the normal business hours to accommodate colleagues in different time zones.
Job Requirements:
Education:
An Advanced Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
Experience:
(What is minimum number of years needed/suggested to perform this job?)
Over 7 years working within Information Technology
Over 3 years work experience as a software developer
Over 3 years working with App Dynamics
Certification Requirements:
(Describe and explain any certifications and/or licenses needed or helpful to perform this job).
ITIL Certification is preferred but not required
App Dynamics/ACIP Certification preferred
