Location: Amsterdam
For the biggest E-commerce platform in The Netherlands I am looking for a Big Data Engineer with a proven track-record in building data workflows and data products at scale.
You will be part of the central data team and work with highly skilled engineers and scientists to help deliver the strategy around leveraging Big Data and advanced Data Science techniques.

Your responsibilities:
- Work closely with developers, product managers and data science teams to develop new ideas, implement and test them, and measure success
- Work with data scientists to translate algorithms into cleanly coded data products
- Use your ETL and Big Data infrastructure knowledge to improve our data systems
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in big data engineering with an established track record of making things that work at scale
- Degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics or similar field a plus
- Experience with Scala and Java 8 programming languages
- Hands-on experience with a big-data ecosystem - Hadoop, Yarn, Spark, Kafka, Flink, Cassandra, Kafka Streams, Luigi, Airflow
- Knowledge of event-driven design
- Proficient in designing efficient and robust ETL workflows
- Preferred experience with a cloud computing environment - Amazon EC2, Google Cloud, Azure
- Some experience with machine learning models
