NPI Manufacturing Engineer
Salary: £35 p/h
12 months initial contract

Location: Cheltenham

Role Summary:
This role is to provide support to an NPI project in the creation and amendment of build processes and tooling required to support Power NPI products.
Act as a technical build authority in a range of the local Cells disciplines and equipment; governance and technical sign-off, for any Operations programme changes. Be responsible for work packages and delivery against business milestones. Where applicable lead a small internal technical team.

Key Activities:

  • Creation of GE documentation and build procedures from drawings using the GE templates.
  • Amendment of existing documents and drawing using GE tools and processes.
  • Support to production Operations and Rework.
  • Interprets data and acts as technical authority for build process authoring and tooling selection. Recommends actions using Engineering knowledge and experience/judgement. Prepares and reviews procedures. Influences Design for Manufacture. Identify and implement the delivery of continuous improvement & the transfer of best practice.

Essential responsibilities:

  • The ownership of the assigned task to completion.
  • Interaction with the GE Change management organisation in resolving document/drawing issues.
  • Evolution and/or authoring of build process instructions.
  • Validating build of product and ensuring stable manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Competent in the use of MS Word/Excel/Office and PDF tools.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Knowledge of FAI, PFMEA, MRL, MCRL and 6s.
