Description

User Researcher required for our York based Central Government client on a 6 month initial contract.

You will influence service proposition, align user research activities and wider plans, and build user centred practices in new teams. You will use strong analytical and problem solving skills to understand the business problem and devise appropriate research strategies. You will also conduct hands-on user research, including pop up testing, moderating usability sessions and interviewing. You will deliver at pace, with a commitment to agile and continuous iterative development to improve the experience for users.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of conducting use research and the research process including: drafting discussions guides, recruiting respondents, organising test venues and mobilising resources, carrying out pop up testing, interviewing and moderating focus groups and usability test sessions. You will also have excellent communication skills and ability to present research findings in a creative and compelling way, tailored to the needs of the audience. You must also be also to confidently explain research findings to colleagues and senior stakeholders and be a persuasive advocate for user needs.
