Description
Vivid Resourcing are currently recruiting for a Quality Inspection need for a client based in Oxfordshire that specialise in the production of Composites products for a variety of different industries. The are looking for a contractor for a minimum of 3 months to aid with the operating and programming of their CMM Machines as well as inspection responsibilities.
The right contractor will have traditional CMM experience as well as experience working with Romer Arm with the ability to write CMM programs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small team of inspectors and metrology technicians.
- Inspection of bought out finished items and in house manufactured components.
- Interpretation of engineering drawings to generate inspection programs on CMM machines, Romer arm etc.
- Ensuring metrology equipment is calibrated.
- Compilation of inspection reports.
Person Specifications:
- Ability to operate and program various coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and Romer arm.
- Proven ability to read and write CMM programs from CAD data.
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
- Experience in usingMetrology equipment such as:
- Internal and external micrometers
- Bore gauges
- Thread gauges
- Slip gauges
- Shadow graph
- Electronic surface finish equipment.
- An understanding of the use of hardness test equipment.
- The ability to train other team members in the use of metrology equipment.
- Knowledge of PC-DMIS CAD++ Software desirable.
- Good people manager with the ability to lead a small team.
- Good PC skills including the use of Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc.
- Good team work and communication skills.
