Offshore Marine Commissioning Engineer

Long term contract

I have an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Mechanical/Process/Electrical Engineer to manage commissioning at shipyards and offshore (at sea). The commissioning projects take place in Asia or/and on sea and the team consists of 2-5 team members of E&I specialists. Weekly hours vary between 40-84 hours, for max 2 months at a time, depending on the project. A two week Product and Safety training in Southern Finland will be required to complete between February-May prior to the start of project.

Job description:

The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for meeting project requirements and goals by managing the commissioning work:
o Safe Commissioning of equipment and materials, following budgets and schedule, ensuring cost effectiveness, quality and correct timing
o Liaise with customer as primary contact in commissioning related matters, in a manner that promotes customer satisfaction
o Manage commissioning personnel
o Assure that contractual liabilities are fulfilled towards customer
o Oversee installation punch list
o Oversee site planning and scheduling to provide adequate reports for monitoring progress and to identify any delays
o Oversee compilation of quality documentation and acceptance certificates
o Ensure that relevant inspections by authorities are done.
o Implement catch-up plans as necessary for schedule delays
o Oversee data collection and submission to project (and to customer)
o Prepare reports
o Collect documentation of all work at site, eg site check lists, measurement records, field reports, time logs and site diary.
o Supervise the use of inspection and test plans and field installation checklists
o Contact for the customer, site experts, subcontractors and other site-related activities.
o Represent Commissioning team in meetings with the customer and other parties at site
o Give continuous feedback to eg engineering, production, supplier management and quality assurance
Superior's duties also include responsibilities for HSE at the workplace.
Required skills:
o MSc or BSc (graduate engineer), Mechanical/Process/Electrical Engineering
o Good knowledge of technical issues
o Strong leadership skills and proven capabilities and motivation to lead teams and work
o Awareness and willingness to maintain the company image
o Good language skills to fulfil assignments around the world
o Can maintain a cost-effective way to lead the work
o Accomplished demanding assignments successfully
o Hands-on experience in operation works
o Knowledge of automation/control systems
o Good ability to build relationship with internal and external clients
o Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
o Ability to handle and solve problems
o Ability to stay abroad, share a room with others
o Ability to absorb knowledge of the project in the destination country
