AWS Quality Engineer - AWS, EC2, Cloudwatch, Python/Ruby, Ansible/Powershell, Test Automation

My client is looking for passionate and self-motivated Quality Engineer to join their team specifically in the development of AWS aligned products.

You will help ensure the quality of the products for AWS. You will be required to work with Product Management, Product Owner, Developers and Operations Team for delivering features assigned.

You need to have knowledge on AWS and public cloud application technologies, preferably with hands on experience on the AWS platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Manager, Product Owner, and other stake holders to understand, and analyse requirements for products to ensure test plans are aligned with them.
  • Write use cases based on product requirements, automate them, execute them, and track issues in bug tracking system so that they are available for review and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated). So that testing cycles are as efficient as possible.
  • Design and assist in building test automation to further improve testing cycle efficiency.
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet real world scenarios, limits, and adverse conditions
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and automated test cases.
  • Estimate, prioritise, and plan testing activities
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs, including tracking bugs found and filed through automation
  • Manages bugs and proactively identifies risks to management
  • Work supportively with colleagues, operating in a collegiate manner at all times and in line with the Company's values.

Key Skills:

  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional level
  • Good system level knowledge with basic understanding of: OS, Storage, Networking
  • Good AWS experience using one or more features, tools and technologies such as EC2, EBS, Glacier, S3, ELB, CloudFormation, Lambada, CloudWatch, VPC, RDS, DirectConnect, AWS CLI, REST API, AWS billing
  • Working experience of Python/Ruby
  • Working experience of other Scripting languages (preferably Ansible), PowerShell
  • Hands on experience with API and/or CLI testing
  • Good experience in Agile methodology (Scrum model). Ability to actively contribute to scrum meetings including daily stand-up, sprint planning, sprint review, design discussions, Demo
  • Experience in Linux, Windows administration, Security
  • Overall 4-7 years of experience working with enterprise IT or service provider environments
  • Excellent interpersonal communications, both verbal and written
  • The ability to work as part of global, virtual team
  • A strong sense of self-motivation and work ethic
  • A positive, persistent approach to their work
  • An ability to reduce complex ideas and problems into lucid concepts and solutions
  • A passion for latest technology and innovation
  • Current UK Security Clearance
  • Willingness to undergo Security Clearance checks
