Description
My client requires a Network Platform engineer and will be required to interact with Architects, Product and Service Owners and fellow Engineers to develop and deploy network solutions in line with my clients standard and longer-term strategy. While the community of Architects focus on longer term strategy, Service and Product Owners work with stakeholders to prioritize features and capability and DevOps manager allocate work and track progress, the product squad engineers makes it happen. In this role you will be expected to deploy different applications/tools on to the hyperflex environment in CNXs and operate this environment.
Additionally, you will need to operate and enhance Proxy and load balancing capabilities in CNXs. Additionally, engineers need to work on different areas of CNX (Extranet connectivity, FW, cloud) depending on the varying workload at any given point in time.
You will also be required to leverage your networking knowledge to troubleshoot particularly challenging incidents and problems related to the Products and Services offered by the team.
Essential criteria & qualifications
A functional knowledge of networking principles at the level of CCNP or greater (specific certification or accreditation not required or expected); you know networks, how to solve problems and how to find better ways
Practical experience deploying and configuring hypervisor solutions (KVM, VMware, Cisco Hyperflex or similar)
A solid grasp of network operations best-practices. You know how getting the basics right sets the foundation for future automations and can highlight examples where you put those beliefs into practice
Experience of network technologies across broad spectrum of LAN, WAN, Metro, Public/Private, Cloud networks
Confidence with the commonly used network equipment in an enterprise environment (such as Cisco, Juniper, HPE/Aruba, etc)
