Description

Role: Data Scientist- Brexit Project

Location: Central London

Start: ASAP

End: Early April, likely to extend.

Day rate: Up to £450 via LTD

The role

Experienced data scientist to work across 2 interdisciplinary Brexit teams. Day to day work is to mine the client's own data, as well as external data, to aid them in the understanding of user needs, monitor how these change over the lifespan of the project, understand the effectiveness of work - and translate all of this into usable insights and tools for the wider team.

The programme

In we helped 2.6 million people directly, and people visited our online advice pages 25 million times. The aim is to keep a closer eye on this vast number of interactions & assess how the customer experience can be improved.

Necessary skills

  • Web analytics - Google Analytics
  • Social media analysis - graph data
  • Ability to work in and with non technical teams
  • Understanding on content design principles
  • Understanding of how data impacts business performance
  • Experience of building data driven in house applications

What's involved:

Discovery

  • Work with senior user researcher to scope the discovery process - understand what can be gathered quantitatively, lead data analysis and translate data into usable insights
  • Work with senior content designer on audit and evaluation of existing content, for example around immigration

Understanding user needs

  • Ongoing monitoring of internal data to identify emerging issues - building new tools for data capture and reporting as required
  • Monitor external data (eg twitter) to horizon scan, identify emerging issues and track national conversation
  • Work with team to build evaluation into the foundations of the project and content plans
  • Work with product owner and senior user researcher to build evaluation into the development of a new phone service for specialist advisers
  • Building data capture and reporting as required by the project
  • Run the evaluation process as project moves forward, translating data into usable insights
