Description

As LRM (Logical Resource Management) & SRI (Service and Resource Inventory) Data Management Specialist you will help maintain and monitor data that is critical to our operations. You will leverage your understanding of underlying network and service platforms, interfaces and inventory stores to ensure accurate data acquisition and integration. You will use a single CMDB and single data model to maintain logical resource data in the SRI inventory, with an end-to-end view of services, to support Inmarsat's service delivery fulfilment. You will also leverage your understanding of the services exposed via SRI to support the maintenance and query of CFS and RFS instances. You will also help develop flexible reporting to provide visibility of our service history and operations to the service and network assurance teams.

You will help deliver value and increased productivity to the business and our customers through effective data maintenance and monitoring that help fulfil of our services.

Principle responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor services (RFS, CFS) and logical resources (IP addresses, MSISDN, etc.) data in the CMDB/inventory
  • Engage closely with the IT, service, network operations and engineering teams
  • Produce reporting, as required
  • Act as the point of contact for BAU changes to relevant data and integration points
  • Support incident management where issues arise, including changes to data in the inventory or within the single platform

Key skills/tasks:

  • Understand typical telecoms network architecture, network service platforms and mobile service platforms (data and voice service)
  • Understand service hierarchies and characteristics
  • Understand the end-to-end service view across services and logical resources and how telecommunications services are modeled from a logical & physical perspective
  • Understand the interfaces between the LRM, SRI and other platforms and how they interact to be able to place customer orders
  • Leverage experience analysing and maintaining data
  • Effectively use stakeholder management skills to work with related and downstream teams

  • Preferred: ServiceNow experience

Required qualifications/experience:

  • BSc (ideally technical degree) or equivalent experience (3-5 years)
  • Post graduate or equivalent experience
  • Experience contributing to successful projects and delivering BAU changes
  • Telecoms experience on TDM/IP voice or network service platforms
  • Good level of IT understanding including Datamodelling, APIs, Scripting, data maintenance & migration
  • Preferred: Experience on cloud based ITSM/CMDB

Preferred: understanding and experience of Satellite or MNO
