Description
IT Project Manager:
Optimization
The first mission of the Senior IT Project Manager will be to manage the optimization engine project.
The Optimization department has as mission to preserve at all times the balance of the gas and electricity portfolios to optimize the value of our assets while keeping the cost for our clients as low as possible
The optimization landscape is heavily changing with the introduction of decentralized production, flexible resources and increased demands from regulators and TSO's
The aim of the Optimization Engine program is to reduce operational business cost and Elia balancing costs. It will replace the core applications dealing with Short Term Optimization(*) by new COTS applications. This will require complex integration to existing landscape and also includes the implementation of a new Operational Data Store and Data Management System. The current IT infrastructure, which is becoming obsolete, is a mixture of applications (homemade and COTS) and technologies (excel/access, .NET, JAVA, APEX, DELPHI, VB6) and strong interfacing (DLL, web services, ODBC, FTP, sFTP, file transfer).
(*)ST Optimization is day-to-day Power Management; nomination of what we intent to produce and consume, activation of our assets in response of Elia' requests, optimization between power production and consumption and between different asset types for the production, balancing
The mission of a IT Project Manager is to make sure the project stakeholders and the company will benefit from project deliveries according to commitments and expectations by constantly managing the triangle of scope, timing and budget.
