Description
Templeton are looking for a scrum master for a role in Dublin. The ideal candidate has 8-16 years experience and a technical background with familiarity in Java based technology. We seek a scrum Master for software development teams, applying Agile principles and practices to facilitate an iterative development environment with new Agile teams as well as existing Agile teams.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Motivate and coach team for continuous improvements towards consistent delivery of working software each Sprint
- Develop a strong understanding of the technical and business environment for the project and combine this understanding with Scrummaster experience to quickly remove impediments and blockers, increase velocity and improve product quality.
- Collaborate with and support, provide assistance, and mentor other SMs and teams based on previous experiences to help deliver the overall project goals
- Foster continuous improvement and self-organization in the team.
- Develop strong relationships with other development and infrastructure teams directly and indirectly involved.
- Coordinate Sprint ceremonies - Release Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Demo and Retrospectives
- Work with Product Owner to develop, groom and prioritize the backlog; ensuring a healthy product backlog
- Collaborate between Product owners and the Development team.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple Agile and non-Agile teams to deliver large initiatives
- Maintain Sprint artifacts and metrics including: velocity/progress and team performance, issues and risks, and handle communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, with min 7-10 years' experience in software development including proven Program/Project Management and Scrum master experience in a technical environment preferably Java based projects.
- A solid understanding of Agile and Agile transformation with the right attitude and personality to continue to improve through coaching and teamwork
- Ability to work with and build new Agile teams as well as strengthen existing Agile teams.
- Experience working in a large scale Agile projects.
- Conversant in Jira, Kanban, Continuous Integration and other Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, and team empowerment
- Demonstrated experience managing projects using both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
- Excellent project management skills to ensure that efforts track to delivery and that stakeholders are kept up to date on status and changes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive multi-tasking and prioritization skills needed and can excel in a fast paced environment
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), MS Project and collaboration tools like Confluence and SharePoint.
- Scrum Master Certification, Certified Scrum Professional is preferred
